SENIOR ELECTRONICS DESIGN ENGINEER
(AUTOMOTIVE EXPERIENCE)

Rugby Consultants Ltd is an engineering design consultancy based in Rugby offering Electronics & Embedded design and development services to clients in Oil & Gas, PA/GA, Medical & Rail sectors. Due to upcoming new projects in automotive sector, we are now looking for a Senior Electronics Design Engineer with automotive experience to work at our office based in Rugby.
Role
The role is mainly hands-on with project management and planning responsibilities. The role involves full electronics life cycle development and there will be some travelling required for visiting clients. Depending upon the project, there will be some off-site work required and there will be flexibility of working remotely.
Requirements and Qualifications

Master degree in Electronics.

10+ years of relevant experience in electronics hardware design.

Automotive industry background mandatory.

Deep expertise in vehicle electrical systems; knowledge of CAN, Automotive Ethernet, FlexRay, LIN, etc.

Proven experience with integrating automotive sensor systems into vehicles.

Analysis of performance, calibration, data collection, system integration & testing in the context of vehicles.

Experienced with capturing requirements and authoring high-level specifications.

Automotive High Voltage (450V/800V) experience would be an advantage.

Conduct Electronic Circuit Analysis (Tolerance analysis, worse case analysis and circuit simulation).

Knowledge of DFM, DFT and ATE test equipment.

Good knowledge of Automotive standards, design methodologies & working practices.

Liaising with partners on PCB design, Validation testing and production implementation.

Familiarity with EMC design techniques and solutions.

Perform block level and component level design safety and reliability analysis.
-
JLR GRADE experience will be an advantage.

Basic familiarity with software and software engineering.

Basic understanding of, and interest in, mechanical principles.

Provide electrical/electronic support for the Hardware Test/Validation.
